Description

The Shipping Supervisor & Forklift Operator is responsible for overseeing shipping operations within the company while also actively participating in forklift operation tasks. This role requires excellent organizational skills, leadership abilities, and proficiency in operating forklift equipment. The Shipping Supervisor & Forklift Operator ensures that shipments are processed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with company policies and procedures.

 

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.

Desired Experience

• Supervisory experience (preferred)
• Proven experience in shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
• Valid forklift operator certification and experience operating various types of forklifts.

Responsabilities

Supervisory Duties:

·         Coordinate and oversee all shipping activities, including receiving, picking, packing, and loading.

·         Assign tasks to shipping team members and ensure adherence to schedules.

·         Provide guidance, training, and support to shipping personnel.

·         Monitor workflow to optimize efficiency and productivity.

·         Maintain a safe working environment and enforce safety regulations.

·         Address any issues or concerns related to shipping operations promptly.

·         Collaborate with other departments to resolve shipping-related issues.

 Forklift Operation:

·         Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.

·         Transport materials and products to designated areas.

·         Load and unload trucks, containers, and pallets as required.

·         Conduct pre-operational checks on forklifts to ensure proper functioning.

·         Handle materials with care to prevent damage or accidents.

·         Follow proper loading and unloading procedures to maintain product integrity.

·         Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while operating forklifts.

 Inventory Management:

·         Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records.

·         Conduct periodic inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.

·         Monitor stock levels and report shortages or excesses to management.

·         Organize and arrange inventory to optimize space utilization.

·         Ensure proper labeling and identification of products.

Quality Control:

·         Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy and quality.

·         Verify product quantities, specifications, and documentation.

·         Address any discrepancies or issues with shipments.

·         Implement quality control measures to minimize errors.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

·         Generate shipping documents such as packing slips, bills of lading.

·         Maintain accurate records of shipments, receipts, and inventory levels.

·         Enter data into computer systems or shipping software accurately.

·         Prepare reports on shipping activities, performance metrics, and inventory status.

 Communication:

·         Liaise with other departments pertaining to products to be shipped.

·         Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth workflow.

·         Report any operational issues or concerns to management promptly.

·         Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements.

Work Hours

1st - Day Shift 7am- 5pm

2nd- Night Shift 5pm -4am
