BILINGUAL WORKSHOP also given in Rockland

APPRENTICESHIP, WORK-STUDY ALTERNATION: HOW IT CAN BE ACCESSED

By : Daniel Jeaurond, Employment & Training Consultant, Ministry of Training, College and Universities

Training through apprenticeship is often overlooked, or even forgotten. Yet, it’s an ideal way to train in a trade of interest to us. Indeed, through apprenticeship, the individual works for a specific period of time, and follows with an approved training in the selected trade. Each work-training period is done alternately according to specific parameters established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. Come and discover through this workshop all components and requirements related to this type of training.

The workshop facilitator will answer questions such as :

  • What trades qualify for the apprenticeship program
  • Why choose this type of training
  • What eligibility criteria must be met by both trainee and employer
  • What requirements must be met to be certified
  • How to register for an apprenticeship program
  • What options are available in order to access an apprenticeship program
  • What financial aid is offered for this type of program

This is a unique opportunity to discover how and why one should choose this type of training, but also how to get started on registering to the program.
