A new sales and customer service workshops and on-the-job training porgram offered by the CSEPR

Hawkesbury, December 12th, 2013 – The Employment Services Centre (CSEPR) announced today the launch of a new program aimed at giving Sales and Customer Service training to young people aged from 15 to 30 years old. This program, called “Top Service”, offers participants a 3-week specific workshop training followed by a 14-week on-the-job paid training with selected employers. Upon completion, the participant will thus have acquired 490 hours of work experience in sales and customer service.

“This new subsidized program by the Federal government will be offered through our Hawkesbury and Rockland offices,” said André Roy, Executive Director for the Centre. “The idea for the program came further to identifying an urgent need for our region to have young people better trained in Sales and Customer Service. We will have 4 groups of 5 individuals – or 20 total – which will be trained and placed for on-the-job training with selected employers. The subsidy paid to employers for this particular program is more than interesting since it covers for almost the totality of the participant’s salary,” added Mr. Roy.

The first group in Hawkesbury started training December 2nd, and will start their on-the-job training on December 16th with selected employers. Thereafter, the 2nd group in Hawkesbury will start on December 16th following on-the-job training starting December 23rd. The program will then be brought to Rockland for the 3rd group who will begin their training on April 14th, 2014 followed by on-the-job training on April 28th. As for the last group in Rockland, training will start on April 28th and the group will be ready for on-the-job training on May 12th.

Although the first group is complete both with regards to participants and employers, the Centre is still accepting candidates for the 3 other groups. Both young people and employers interested in participating or obtaining more information on the program can contact Véronique Legris, Project Coordinator at 613.632.0179.
