WSIB - A NEW MANDATE FOR THE EMPLOYMENT SERVICES CENTRE
Hawkesbury, January 8th, 2014 – The Employment Services Centre (CSEPR) is happy to announce that it has been mandated by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) to offer employment evaluation and work reintegration services to workers who benefit from compensation following workplace injuries or professional illnesses.
“The Centre occasionally did this kind of work already for other service providers,” said André Roy, Executive Director for the Centre. “We are very happy of this signed agreement with the Board since it confirms our mandate, but it also ensures we get direct references from the WSIB. And, since we have past experience with this type of cases, our Job Counsellors already have all the necessary tools to manage them efficiently,” to conclude Mr. Roy.
The role of the Centre in this particular aspect is to perform evaluations and recommendations in regards to employment for those customers who benefit from financial support after being victim of a workplace injury or a professional illness. Although customers will be referred directly by the WSIB, the number of annual references can hardly be estimated because of the nature of the program.
Employment Services Centre (CSEPR) is a not-for-profit corporation with 3 offices serving the vast region of Prescott-Russell. Sole organization dispensing all employment services for the region, it is funded by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities for the Employment Ontario program, as well as the Ministry of Community and Social Services for the Ontario Disability Support Program, and receives funding for the Ontario Works program from the United Counties of Prescott-Russell as well. The Centre aims to accompany and support all types of clienteles in search of work or reintegrating the workforce, as well as supporting regional employers with their staffing needs. The Centre offers a complete line of tools and resources to its different clienteles, including several subsidized programs, and through its vocation, contributes in an important way to the region’s economic development.
