Employment-related workshops available
The Employment Services Centre (CSEPR) has announced a new series of workshops for the Prescott-Russell region population. This series includes 10 workshops on various topics to be held both in French and in English from September to November. All themes aim at better informing and preparing participants about and for employment.
"For this second workshop series, we called on specialists in different subjects, in addition to using the skills of our employment counsellors to give these sessions," said André Roy, Executive Director for the CSEPR.
"Our choices include a specialist who will supply pariticipants with information on how to apply to government jobs and maximize chances of getting past initial screening, or company visits that will allow participants to discover local employers and the types of jobs they offer along with allowing a first contact with their hiring managers. First aid and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation certification will also be offered at the Centre to facilitate access to those who require such training for their trades. As for our employment counsellors, they will dispense workshops on looking for work after 50, as well as on how to overcome barriers that can block one's career advancement. These are current subjects to support participants so they can continue to move forward on their career paths," added Roy.
"The workshops are organized with the sole objective of helping our community. We certainly hope that the population will once again respond favourably and attend these events in large numbers as they are organized for them and aim to better equip them for their current or future job," concluded Roy.
