New employment incentives for employers

Prescott and Russell employers can now take advantage of the new Employing Young Talent Incentive program available through the Employment Services Centre (CSEPR) in Hawkesbury. Established by the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development under the Employment Ontario program, these incentives aim at helping businesses which have fewer than 100 employees hire young people aged from 15 to 29 years old.

"With this new incentives program, we can financially help small and medium-sized businesses in the region with the hiring of young people who are in the early stages of their career. Employers can receive up to $2000 for the hiring and retaining of young candidates. Considering actual employment standards, there is no doubt that any measure put in place allowing for the reduction of the tax burden on businesses is interesting," stated André Roy, Executive Director for the Employment Services Centre.

"This new program complements the range of wage subsidies and incentives already available to support employers with their hiring of personnel. Through these different programs, we can offer financial support to businesses that are hiring candidates from 15 to 65 years old," adds Roy.

"Also, given the diversity of programs offered, we invite employers who want to benefit from this invaluable help to contact us so that we can assess their needs and see how we can respond to them," concluded Roy.
