HELP FOR EMPLOYERS TO TRAIN NEW STAFF
HAWKESBURY - The Employment Services Centre (CSEPR) wants to let Prescott-Russell employers know that the new Canada-Ontario Job Grant Program is now available to them. This new program, agreed upon last March betwen the federal and provincial governments, aims at helping employers cover training costs for their employees. Subsidies given through this program will cover up to two-thirds of total training costs per individual.
"This is very good news for our business community which has been waiting for such initiatives for a while," said André Roy, Executive Director for the CSEPR. "This program will allow employers to train their employees according to their needs, and receive up to 10,000$ per employee to cover direct training costs. This subsidized program aims at encouraging employers to organize training initiatives that will allow them to stay competitive in their market, but also help them ensure that their workforce maintains updated knowledge of their skills. This is a win-win situation both for employer and employee, but also for our economy", concluded Roy.
To get more information on this new program, or to apply for a subsidy, employers are invited to contact the Employment Services Centre's Job Developers. For Prescott, Murielle Huneault Pilon, at 613.632.0179 and for Russell, France Gareau, at 613.446.4189.
